1-Minute Breathing Exercise

Only have a minute? That's enough. Press start and follow the circle for a quick, calming reset — wherever you are.

Why a single minute works

You don't need a long session to feel a difference. Slowing your breathing — even for 60 seconds, with a longer out-breath than in-breath — is a quick way to tell your body it can ease off. It's the fastest calming tool you always have with you.

How to use it

Wherever you are, sit or stand comfortably and let your breath follow the circle: in as it grows, out as it shrinks. One minute is the default here, but if you have a little longer, tap 2 or 5 minutes for a deeper reset.

When to stop

If you feel lightheaded, return to normal breathing. This is a self-help tool, not a treatment — if you're frequently overwhelmed or in crisis, please reach out to a professional or a crisis line (988 in the US, Samaritans 116 123 in the UK & ROI).

Frequently asked questions

Can one minute of breathing really help?

Yes — even a handful of slow breaths can ease a spike of stress. A focused 60 seconds is often enough to notice your shoulders drop and your mind settle a little.

When should I use it?

Before a meeting, in traffic, between tasks, or any moment tension builds. It's short enough to slot into almost any gap in your day.

Need more than a quick reset?

If stress or anxiety keeps building back up, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is the most effective, evidence-based way to address it. Online-Therapy.com offers structured CBT with a personal therapist from $48/week.
