Our own free interactive web tools offer short practices in your browser without installing an app:

4. Mindfulness Coach — Free Guided Learning and Practice Tracking
Created by the US Department of Veterans Affairs’ National Center for PTSD, Mindfulness Coach is free and publicly available, including to people who are not veterans. It offers a gradual training program, mindfulness exercises, practice logs and reminders.
Who it suits: Someone who wants to learn step by step and keep track of a regular practice. What’s free: The app does not require a paid subscription. It supports self-guided practice, but does not replace professional care when that is needed.

6. Headspace — An App Trial, with Separate Free Resources
